It’s coming. Rona got even more scared. Footsteps were coming from the front of the airplane. They were different than before. Quieter. And walking really, really slow. Something Bad is trying to sneak up on me. She moved closer to the wall. The monster wouldn’t see her under the seat.

The footsteps walked up to her row and stopped. She scootched back some more and didn’t dare look. If she peeped from under the seat, the monster would see her. She covered her mouth and was so scared she forgot to breathe. When the footsteps went on down the aisle toward the back, she took a deep breath. Then she heard more footsteps but couldn’t tell if they were coming toward her or going away. It sounded like both. The feet could be going away, and the arm thingies could be coming to get her like one of them did Mona.

It was a trick.

No. Now she heard whispers.
